9 unknown facts about Salman Khan’s Sultan

The most awaited film of the year Sultan is now just some days away to hit the silver screens. Superstar Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma are playing the main leads in Sultan, which is scheduled to release on 6th July 2016.

According to the sources, Sultan will be the biggest release in the history of Bollywood as per the screen counts. It will release with around 5500 screens in Indian plus more than 1000 screens in abroad. It means Sultan has all the possibilities to break all the previous box office records.

One more interesting thing is that Sultan will get an extended 5 days weekend as it is releasing on Wednesday on Eid. This will also play a very important role for the box office numbers as more and more people would come to watch the film and without any doubt might be the highest grossing film of the year.

But the biggest question currently revolves around people’s mind is that will Sultan will become all time highest grossing Bollywood movie? Only time will tell you the answer.

Well, in this post, we will tell about some interesting and unknown facts about Sultan which you might not know.

1. Salman is playing the role of a Haryanvi wrestler in the film for which he put up his weight from 65kg to 95 kg. A bit heavier and bulky. Before this, Salman has never put on his weight like this in his career.

2. Anushka Sharma was not the first choice of producer Aditya Chopra for Sultan as he wanted to cast Parineeti Chopra for the female lead but director Ali Abbas Zafar wrote this role having Anushka in the mind.

3. Earlier, it was also said that Rekha will also be the part of Sultan and will play Sultan’s mother in the film but she is not in the final star cast.

4. Sultan has been majorly shot in Delhi, Haryana, Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.

5. Aamir Khan is also working in a film called Dangal, which is also based on wrestling sport. Earlier, Ali Abbas Zafar has finalized Dangal as the title for his film but after knowing that Aamir’s film has also similar title, he changed his title to Sultan.

6. Most of the wrestling scenes picturised in the film are real. Actual wrestlers were selected for the wrestling sequences, so Salman has faced some really tough time during the shoot.

7. The story of Sultan is not based on real life character but it is Alia Abbas’s creation of mind.

8. Randeep Hooda is playing the role of Sultan’s coach in the film but he was not the first choice of the makers. Firstly, Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone was approached for the role. After he refused to do so, then it went to Sanjay Dutt but because he was in Jail at that time so the role was finally gone to Randeep Hooda.

9. Rani Mukherjee, wife of Aditya Chopra, who is a very good friend of Salman is the executive producer of Sultan.
