Now, Murugadoss has once again come up with his latest action-drama Akira featuring Sonakshi Sinha in all new action avatar. Let’s go through the below mentioned Akira movie review and find out how whether it is a worth to watch or not.
The literal meaning of the word Akira is strength, which is personified by Sonakshi’s character name in the film. Akira is the story of a small town girl, who belongs to a middle-class family. This girl is kind of short-tempered, who very easily loses her calm and let her hands and legs to do the talking as she is a trained martial art girl.
To cope up with this, Akira’s parents sent her to Mumbai in hope that the big city will calm her down. She takes admission in a college and in just a few days of time, she got messed up with the bad elements of the society. Akira never tolerates misbehaving with her or the other girls of the college.
She showcases her skills of handling the boys with her unbelievable action sequences with some kick ass punches and kicks but in between these all, she traps in a mess against a corrupt and smoker police inspector played by the director -turned actor Anurag Kashyap.
Now, the question is how she gets into this trap and will she comes out with this or shrink away by our very own corrupt system. This you will know after watching the film.
Although, Akira is a women oriented film showing off the other side of this gender but is has been made like a masala entertainer having all the elements of a commercially driven film. The one liner dialogues, some breathtaking action sequences by Sonakshi plus the thrill involved in by a fast moving story.
The screenplay is not outstanding and the cinematography part is just better. There are so many dramatic changes occurred which will surprise you. Overall, with not such a fantastic script, director, with the help of the other aspects of the film somehow successful in presenting of a good film.
For Sonakshi Sinha’s fan, who were expecting it to be his best film might get disappointed because she has nothing done out of the box kind of show. Her acting is average in the film. Apart from some action -sequences, there is nothing to cheer about his role.
Anurag Kashyap is the real surprise of Akira. Anurag has already shown his expertise as a filmmaker and now his new avatar as an actor will leave you awestruck. With such a flawless he performed this gray shade character in the film is the biggest highlight of the film. Even, he gets more screen space than Sonakshi.
Konkana Sen Sharma doesn’t have a full-fledged lengthy role but she once again proved that she is among the finest talents that the film industry has.
As I said earlier, Akira has so many folds during the entire duration which might pinch you in the middle. The climax is also not as per the expectations plus an average script with not something new are the main points on which the makers had to work more.
Akira is a clear cut masala entertainer having all the ingredients which you like it. Sonakshi’s fans would surely watch it and for others, you can watch it for once but don’t expect something extraordinary from Akira.
