It seems that Bollywood actors do not want to have biggest clash at the box office. Earlier, it was Shah Rukh Khan, whose upcoming crime-thriller Raees had postponed from Eid 2016 to 26th January 2017 just to avoid the clash with Salman Khan starrer Sultan, which is hitting the screens on the same day. Now, Akshay Kumar is the latest one to join the queue. The makers of Rustom have now rescheduled the release date of the film, which was supposed to be clashed with Hrithik Roshan starrer next adventure-drama Mohenjo Daro.
It is known that Akshay’s Rustom and Hrithik’s Mohenjo Daro was scheduled to release on 12th August 2016, which was calling as one of the biggest box office clashes of the year. Till yesterday, everything was fine and people are excited to watch the two big films but according to the sources, Hrithik has recently met with Akshay and requested him to change the dates of his film which had immediately accepted by Akshay as he knows it will be not good for both the films and the revenues would be divided between the two.
Now, the makers of Rustom are planning to release Rustom one week prior to Mohenjo Daro i.e. on 5th of August. If all goes according to the plans, one more big clash of the year is to be avoided, which somehow a clever decision by the makers because both Akshay and Hrithik are big stars and have millions of fans. In case of clash, there is a division of the fans and both films get affected with this awkward situation.
Ashutosh Govarikar directorial Mohenjo Daro is basically a period-drama set in the ancient city of Mohenjo – Daro in the era of the Indus Valley Civilization during way back in 2600 B.C. Model turned actress Pooja Hegde is making her Bollywood debut with the film and to be seen opposite Hrithik.
On the other hand, suspense-thriller Rustom is the story inspired by a true event. Akshay is playing the character of a Navy officer who kills the lover of his wife played by IIeana D’Cruz with the gun shots. Tinu Suresh Desai is making his directorial debut with Rustom.
