Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is gearing up for her next big film Sultan in which she is sharing the screen space with superstar Salman Khan. Sultan is a wrestling based film and Anushka is playing the character of a wrestler Aarfa in the film who falls in love with Salman, who is also a Haryanvi wrestler.
Anushka is currently one of the top notch emerging superstar of the B-Town. She is one of the few lucky heroines, who got the opportunity to work with the three big Khans of Bollywood and she is the quickest one among her counterparts in just 8 years of debut.
Anushka, 28, was born on 1st May, 1988 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Her father Colonel Ajay Kumar Sharma is an army officer and mother Ashima Sharma is a homemaker.
Anushka was raised in Bangalore and her schooling has been done in Army school. From her school days, Anushka wanted to become a model. That's why she started modelling after her studied in Bangalore.
In an interview, Anushka admitted that she never aspired to an actress and always looking forward for modelling. Acting happened to her was just a co-incident.
Her first modelling assignment was with fashion designer Wendell Rodricks in 2007.
Later on, she moved to Mumbai to pursue further heights in her modelling career. In 2007, when Anushka was busy in her modelling assignments, someone informed her that Yash Raj Films are organizing an audition for its next film.
After the insistence by her friends, Anushka gave the auditions and luckily was selected. The film was Aditya Chopra's directorial Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) and she was signed opposite to Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan.
It was a dream debut for Anushka and the film received a whooping response from the audience. Anushka played the female lead of Tani, who is a young bride of a middle age man.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was the second highest grossing Bollywood film of the year. Anushka got thumps up for her character and received Filmfare nominations for Best Actress and Best Female Debut.
After this staggering start, Anushka was seen in various multistarrer films like Badmash Company (2010), Band Baja Barat (2010), Patiala House and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.
In 2012, Anushka once again seen with Shah Rukh Khan in Yash Chopra's romantic-drama Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which had done really well at the box office. She bagged her first Filmfare Award for Best supporting actress for her role of Akira.
In 2014, Anushka's career biggest film happened, when filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani featured her opposite to Aamir Khan. She played the character of TV reporter in the film and PK become the all time biggest grossing film in the history of Bollywood.
After shown her acting talent, Anushka turned producer in 2015 and came up with her first film NH10 in which she played the main lead. Critics and audience both appreciated her character of Meera.
This year too, Anushka's two big films would come. Sultan, which will hit the screens on 6th July and Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in which she will be seen with Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Her second production venture Phiilauri is currently filming in Punjab and will ready to release in 2017.
