Tony D’Souza’s directorial biopic Azhar has shown a little drop on its 1st Monday. The film collected Rs 3 crore on Monday and thus taking its toll to Rs 23.80 crore in the domestic circle.
Emraan Hashmi and Prachi Desai starrer Azhar had done really well in its opening weekend with Rs 20.80 crore, which is one of the bests Emraan Hashmi’s film collection. People are enjoying this film based on former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin.
After the healthy weekend, this sudden drop is a normal week drop and every film has to face it since people gets busy in their office routine. The pleasing fact is that there is not any other big release along with Azhar, which ultimately helps it to have more crores in its kitty.
For Emraan Hashmi, this is his one of the best performances of his career. His last biggest Bollywood grosser was Jannat 2 that was done brilliantly at the box office. Now Azhar has to stay calm and steady for the next few days if it wants to induct in the list of Top 10 Highest grossers of 2016.
Next week, there will be a big film Sarabjit is going to hit the screens. Sarabjit is the biographical film made on the life of Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh. Randeep Hooda, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Richa Chadda are playing pivotal roles in the film and it will surely affect the box office performance of Azhar, which is currently going as per the expectations.
