Box office: Fan finished its first weekend with outstanding numbers

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan, which released on Friday, has finished its first weekend with outstanding numbers. As expected, people have come in good numbers to watch this most anticipated film of the year and after the first weekend, the box office collections of Fan stand at Rs 52.35 crore. This also makes it the highest first weekend grosser of the year.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma, Fan is about a Delhi boy Gaurav Chandna who is the biggest fan of superstar Aryan Khanna. He is obsessive of Aryan and could do anything to meet him once. Shah Rukh is once again in dual characters after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) and people have loved his innovative character of Gaurav who looks like Aryan Khanna.

Despite its mixed reviews from good to better and the lose second half, Fan has managed to get the pleasing numbers on the first weekend thanks to the stardom of King Khan and his fantastic performance as Gaurav. Fan had started wonderfully on Friday and got in Rs 19.20 crore. This is also makes the highest opening day numbers of any Bollywood film in 2016. However, everyone expected that Saturday showed some healthy growth in the numbers but surprisingly Fan shown big fallout and brought in just Rs 15.40 crore which is certainly not expected. Sunday seemed to be the biggest day for the film but again the numbers shocked everyone and it not even crossed the first day numbers. On Sunday, it collected Rs 17.75 crore which is certainly not expected from a Shah Rukh Khan’s film.

But still with these shocking surprises, SRK’s Fan has managed to break some Box Office records. First of all, it become biggest opener of the year beating Airlift (Rs 12.35 crore) and also acquired the top position of highest weekend grosser of 2016 again surpassed Airlift (Rs 44.30 crore). It is also become the 4th highest grosser of the year by crossing the total weekend collections of Ki and Ka (Rs 52.11).

If we talk about the overseas report card of Fan, it has opened really well with Rs 43 crore on its opening weekend.

    Don’t know why people go and watch this boring movie. I have never seen like this movie.
