John Abraham and Varun Dhawan starrer action-adventure drama Dishoom has failed to hold steady after a fantastic first weekend. On 1st Monday i.e. its 4th day, Dishoom shows a big dropout and collected just Rs 4.85 crore. Now, its total box office collections reached to Rs 42.17 crore.
Rohit Dhawan directorial Dishoom had witnessed a commendable first weekend with Rs 37.32 crore but when it required getting on with the current face, suddenly this much of drop is shocking.
We understands that Monday is the first day of the week and also a working day, so normal fallout witnesses by every single film but because Dishoom is a big fat film made with the budget of around 70 crore, one can expect some tight grip in weekdays too, even after a roller coaster ride in weekend.
However, even after this dismal show, Dishoom has still managed to enter the list of Top 10 highest Bollywood grossers of 2016. It has evicted Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Wazir (Rs 42 crore) and placed at 9th position.
Dishoom has also become 9th highest grosser of John Abraham’s career beating the lifetime total of his popular action-thriller Dhoom (2004) which raked Rs 31.75 crore from the Indian box office.
Now, Dishoom has to perform better and at least shown some steadiness for the better results. Still, it is way behind its making cost and with the current pace, it might difficult for Dishoom to achieve that mark.
