After having a wonderful start of 2016 with the super hit film ‘Airlift’, Bollywood’s ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar has now started working on his next project ‘Rustom’, which is set in the decade of 1950’s. Here is the sneak picture of Akshay from the sets of ‘Rustom’ in which the actor is seen with a moustache.
‘Rustom’ is directed by Tina Suresh Desai, who is making her directing debut. The film is based on the era of 50’s and Akshay will be seen in complete new avatar, which is also reflecting in this picture. According to the close officials related to the film, Akshay has to get into a new look, so the best team of prosthetics have been called and it takes lots of time in making over of Akshay.
Every time, costumes plays a very vital role in old decade films. In ‘Rustom’ also, lots of work has been done in selecting wardrobe of the actors. Costume designer Ameira Punvani has spent three months in working and finalizing cloths because the film demands the popular flared pants, charcoal ties and cardigans of that era.
Neeraj Pandey, who had earlier worked with Akshay in successful films like ‘Special 26’ (2013) and ‘Baby’ (2015), has written the script of ‘Rustom’ along with Vipul Rawal. The film has also featured Esha Gupta and IIeana D’Cruz as female leads. The first schedule of the film has already started in Mumbai and the unit will further moved to the various locations of England and Europe.
Filming on the rapid schedule of cut to cut basis for the next 4 months, ‘Rustom’ is scheduled to hit the screens on Independence Day week on 12th August and it will be another clash off with Ashutosh Govarikar’s period-drama ‘Mohenjo-Daro’ which stars Hrithik Roshan in lead role.
meanwhile, Akshay’s last Independence day release was ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobara’ (2012) which had not done well at the Box office.
