The makers of upcoming biographical film Sarabjit have finally launched the first official poster of the film in the presence of BJP president Amit Shah and Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari here in Shah’s residence in Delhi. The poster shows Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as never seen before looks as Dalbir Kaur, Sarabjit’s sister.
Directed by Mary Com famed Omung Kumar, Sarabjit is the real story of Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh, who was died in 2013 in Pakistani Jail after suffered for 23 years. In 1990, he was mistakenly crossed the borders and then arrested by Pakistani authorities. He was treated as Indian agent and sentenced to death by Pakistani Court before attacked by his jail inmates. Randeep Hooda is playing Sarabjit in the film.
In this poster, only Aishwarya, who is portraying Sarabjit’s sister, is seen. Like her regular glamorous avatar, this character of Dalbir Kaur is totally different and she is looking calm, quite and serious in this without makeup look with Khaki cotton suit. The makers has tried their best to look Aish similar to real Dalbir and her thick specs and black and white hair has transformed her into much bigger than her actual age.
On this occasion, the entire starcast including Aish, Richa Chadda (Sarabjit’s wife), Omung Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and Vashu Bhagnani (Producers) were present.
Sarabjit is scheduled to hit the screens on 20th May 2016.
