The past weekend has gone a big disappointment at the domestic box office as none of the releases performed even better at the box office. The first weekend collections of both Raman Raghav 2.0 and Junooniyat have kept really low.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky Kaushal starrer crime-thriller Raman Raghav 2.0 has not received the same kind of reception from the audience as it got from the critics. Although, Nawazuddin gave a superb performance as serial killer Raman Raghav but it could not transform it into numbers.
On its first weekend, Raman Raghav 2.0 has collected just around Rs4 crore, which is definitely not as per the expectations. The big reason for this poor show is the less number of screen count and it is only running at the multiplexes due to which mass audience has not able to watch the film.
Another big reason is that Raman Raghav 2.0 is an adult and dark film, so there is a limited bunch of people like this kind of cinema. The good thing in between this is that it is a low budget film made only with Rs 13 crore, so it has a chance to recover its cost of production.

The other release of the week Junooniyat starring Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam has also kept on the same path. At the end of the first weekend, it just managed to add around Rs 2 crore, that is a big dull for the producers.
On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Udta Punjab has now sliding downwards. Its second weekend, in the presence of other releases, ends with around Rs 6 crore, thus it reached to Rs 54.35 crore.
Udta Punjab has now become 7th highest grossing film of the year surpassing Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Ki and Ka (Rs 51.25 crore).
