New releases Kaalakaandi, Mukkabaaz and 1921 receiving average responses while Vikram Bhatt’s 1921 performed very well among these films which was unexpected. Another side Tiger Zinda Hai affected while this superstars’ film already completed 24 days and crosses 320 crore mark at domestic.
2018 stars with a clash where low budget movies dark comedy Kaalakaandi, Boxing action Mukkabaaz and horror 1921. Saif Ali Khan failed again, his Kaalakaandi was first scheduled in 2017 postponed several times and finally released on 12 Jan 2018.
Kaalakaandi opened with Rs 1.25 Crore, unfortunately, fell down on Saturday and earned just Rs 1.20 Crore while Rs 1.40 Crore on Sunday. Anurag Kashyap’s Boxing drama received strong word of mouth so jumped well on the weekend.
Mukkabaaz opened slow (Rs 0.82 Cr)but jumped high on Saturday and earned Rs 1.51 Crore and Sunday (Rs 1.71 Crore). Acclaimed Horror Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt’s 1921 stars Zareen Khan and Karan Kundra opened with Rs 1.56 Crore then jumped on Saturday and earned Rs 2.09 Crore and Sunday (Rs 2.80 Crore).
2017’s Highest Grosser Film Tiger Zinda Hai still running well and 2018’s big and commercial films yet to come soon. The most awaited clash Padman Vs Padmavat on 25th January will set the record for next releases like Race 3, 2.0, Baaghi 2, Manikarnika etc.
