Kabali first weekend box office collections: becomes fastest 200 crore grosser of all time

Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest released action-drama Kabali is the new sensation of the Indian Cinema. Kabali first weekend box office collections crossed the magical figure of 200 crore at the global markets.

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth considers as the God of Indian Cinema and over the years, his most of the films have done mind-boggling business at the box office. In his home territory Tamil Nadu and the other neighboring states, Kabali has overtaken the business of some biggest South Indian blockbusters in just 3 days.

According to the reports coming in from the trade experts, Kabali has shattered all the previous box office records and grossed around Rs 87.50 crores ($13 million) from the overseas markets in the first weekend and get past the earlier record set up by Dhoom 3 ( Rs 69.43 crores – $10.32 million).

In overseas, the major earning of Kabali has done from Malaysia/Singapore and USA Canada  region. Kabali is now only 2nd film after Dhoom 3 to cross $10 million in first 3 days. It is also fastest film to do so.

If we talk about India’s report, Kabali’s magic has gripped the entire nation with Rajinimania. The film has grossed over Rs 110 crores in Indian markets from all the versions (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada). Kabali has opened on Friday with record breaking collections of Rs 47.50 crores  from India.

Most of the people are saying that Kabali’s magic has only poured on South Indian region but the numbers coming in from North Indian circuits are telling a totally different story.

In North India markets, Kabali has collected Rs 19.15 crores from Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions, which is a whopping figure for a film released in only 1000 screens in North circuits.

Overall, Kabali has grossed more than 200 crores globally in first three days, thus it becomes fastest 200 crore grosser of all time.

Well, with this kind of storm at the box office, without any doubt, Kabali is now heading towards the all important week one and it is interesting to see how it will perform on weekdays.
