Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi stuck because the project belongs to veteran filmmaker Ketan Mehta, not to Baahubali writer K Vijayendra Prasad and South Indian director Krish. If that’s true then Kangana Ranaut is really a cheater.
Acclaimed filmmaker Ketan Mehta had spent a decade researching for this ambitious project based on history’s one of the bravest ladies. In 2015, Ketan Mehta told the script to Kangana Ranaut and they agreed to do this big project.
Kangana Ranaut introduced producer Kamal Jain to Ketan Mehta and they discussed everything about the film Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen, which was the title of Ketan Mehta’s film. After a few days, Ketan got shocked to see the news that Kangana Ranaut is doing Rani Lakshmi biopic with another director and producer.
According to the report of Hindustan Times, Ketan Mehta told them “My legal notice says how we have worked on the project for two years and how all of a sudden everything happened. We have asked for the film (Manikarnika) to stop as we plan to go ahead with our project“.
This is not the first time, she has always been in limelight for controversies. Recently, Simran (2017) writer Apurva Asrani also accused Kangana is telling to media that the actress started writing some dialogues through Hindi drama Simran directed by Hansal Mehta.
National Film Award winning director Ketan Mehta’s last film Manjhi: The Mountain Man (2015) received an amazing response. He first directed National Award winning Best Feature Film on National Integration Bhavni Bhavai (1980).
