Kangana Ranaut is today one of the biggest Bollywood actress. This Queen of the film industry has now become 2nd highest paid actress of the B-Town
Kangana, 30, who belongs to a small town in Himachal Pradesh was started her career as model at a very young age of 16.
Kangana shifted to Delhi and started doing modelling from where she got the offered to work in film industry.
She made her Bollywood debut with Mahesh Bhatt's thriller film Gangster (2006) opposite to Emraan Hashmi and Shiney Ahujha.
Although, Gangster had not performed well at the box office but Kangana made her impact and won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut actress.
After this kind of start, Kangana received so much praise for her intense roles in Woh Lamhe (2006) and Life in a...Metro (2007).
The biggest twist in Kangana's life was came in 2008 when she starred in Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion. She played the role of a super model for which she received her first National Award for Best Supporting Actress and also Filmfare Award in the similar category.
This film instantly rose the popularity of Kangana and she started getting offers from big banners but unfortunately due to poor selection, her nest few films were big flops at the box office.
Although, films like Raaz- The Mystery Continues (2009) and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai (2010) gave her commercial success but her struggle was continued.
Films like Kites (2010), Knock Out (2010), No Problem (2010) and Game (2011) failed to impress the audience and Kangana was tagged flop actress.
In these challenging days, when all hopes of Kangana got melted, Anand L. Rai made Tanu Weds Manu (2011) with Kangana and the film was a big hit and Kangana's role was appreciated by the audience.
Post Tanu Weds Manu, Kangana again saw a dip with back to back flops such as Double Dhamaal (2011), Tezz (2012) and Shootout at Wadala (2013)
In 2013, Rakesh Roshan gave her an opportunity to be part of Krrish 3, which is a popular sci-fi franchise starring Hrithik Roshan in main lead. The film became one of the biggest grossers of the year.
In 2014, Kangana's stars again took a step, this time even biggest when Vikas Bahl's Queen came in which she played the role of Rani Mehra.
Queen received financial as well as critical acclaim from all parts of the country and for her finest performance, Kangana received her second National Award for Best Actress, which was surely the biggest achivement of her career.
This dream fairy tale of this small town girl, wasn't stop here and she bagged her third National Award for sequel film Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) in which she portrayed double role.
Now, Kangana become second highest paid actress of Bollywood after Deepika Padukone and will be next seen in Vishal Bharadwaj's period-drama Rangoon (2017) opposite to Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
