Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer romantic-drama Ki and Ka has opened quite well at the domestic box office on its first day. Released with around 1500-1700 screens in India, Ki and Ka has collected Rs 7.30 crore on Friday that is decent numbers for the film.

Directed by R. Balki, Ki and Ka had got mixed reviews from the critics after that all were expecting for a dull opening, but all went wrong and it gets above par collections on Day one. The occupancies throughout the day were ranging between 40 -50 percent and it seems that audience has liked this different love story of a house husband and his career oriented working wife. This is itself a fresh plot and which will show growth in the coming days.
Talking about the box office records, Ki and Ka has crossed the first day collections of this year’s Ghayal Once Again (Rs 7.20 crore) and Kapoor and Sons (Rs 6.85 crore). For R. Balki, this is his biggest ever opening day of his career. His last film Shamitabh (2015) was his biggest opening day film with Rs 3.50 crore till date.
Although, these numbers are not even closer to the earlier released films of Arjun and Kareena Kapoor Khan but still for Arjun, this is definitely better than his last film Tevar.
Now after getting this good start on Day one, the next possible goal for Ki and Ka to be kept steady on Saturday and Sunday. From here, the makers are expecting to fetch around 18-20 crore in two day that will reach the collections to Rs 27 crore.
if this happens then Ki and Ka will surely enter in the club of highest first weekend earners of 2016.
