National Award winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is bringing Indu Sarkar, a political drama shows late Indira Gandhi or Emergency time (1975-77). Pink (2016) actress Kriti Kulhari is playing a lead role in the film.
Many Congress leaders and supporters are speaking against the film but Indu Sarkar makers decided to book the slot and confirmed the day of 28th July this year. Supriya Vinod is playing the role of Indira Gandhi while Neil Nitin Mukesh to play her son Sanjay Gandhi.
Indu Sarkar actress Kriti Kulhari has proven herself as a fine actress, so Filmmaker like Madhur Bhandarkar’s eyes went on her and decided to give an opportunity to play a lead role.
Kriti Kulhari recently received Dada Saheb Phalke Award for her role of Falak Ali in successful social drama Pink (2016) also stars megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, and Andrea Tariang.
The actress is still underrated talented actress started her career through Hindi comedy drama Khichdi: The Movie (2010) but she made a mark through films like Hindi thriller film Shaitaan (2011) and social issues based Pink (2016).

Indu Sarkar is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and produced by Bharat Shah and Madhur Bhandarkar himself. He is highly acclaimed Hindi filmmaker honored by Padma Shri- The fourth highest civilian award.
Madhur Bhandarkar is known for different filmmaking, his successful and award winning films Fashion (2008), Traffic Signal (2007), Page 3 (2005), Chandni Bar (2001) proved himself as one of the best directors of this generation.
He is coming back after Hindi drama Calendar Girls (2015) and including this last four films Heroine (2012), Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji (2011), Jail (2009) didn’t well at Box Office neither impressed the critic and audeince.
Indu Sarkar will clash with Arjun Kapoor’s comedy drama Mubarakan and Kunal Kapoor’s RagDesh.
