Ashutosh Gowariker directorial pre-historic drama Mohenjo Daro has seen a huge downfall on its first weekday. It has collected around Rs 3.50* crore on 5th day i.e. its 1st Tuesday and taken its overall box office collections in India to Rs 44.25* crore.
This is something unexpected happened from a Hrithik Roshan starrer. Hrithik is among the biggest superstars of the B-Town and his every film has generally grossed heavy amounts at the box office but this time, all went opposite to the expectations.
Yes, of course, we can say that the box office clash with Rustom has made the enormous damage to Mohenjo Daro but then also the film has been criticized for its under par script plus poor VFX that the star power could not even protect it from the debacle.
On one side, Akshay Kumar’s Rustom, which was released on the same day has crossed the 75 crore mark in flat five days, Mohenjo Daro has not able to reach at 50 crore mark.
With this way, Mohenjo Daro will not even get closer to its cost of production but the only pleasing factor here is that it had already recovered 60 crores from music and satellite rights.
The coming days are very important for Mohenjo Daro. Tomorrow will be the big Rakshabandhan Holiday and this is the perfect chance for it to grab as more as possible but it will definitely get the stiff competition from Rustom.
