Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz starrer crime-thriller Rustom has finally crossed the much awaited 100 crore mark on its 9th day at the domestic box office. Rustom had kept strong on the 10th day and brought in around Rs 6.5* crores on its 2nd Sunday. Now, it’s 2nd weekend box office collections stand at Rs 107.58* crores.
With this, Rustom becomes 45th Bollywood film to enter this most special 100 crore club of the box office in which everyone wants to feature in this elite list of Bollywood.
For Akshay, this is his 6th 100 crore grosser after Housefull 2 (Rs 106 crores), Rowdy Rathore (Rs 131 crores), Holiday (Rs 112.18 crores), Airlift (Rs 127.80 crores) and Housefull 3 (Rs 108.50 crores).
Apart from this, the most promising thing for Akshay to cheer is that Rustom has become his fastest 100 crore entrant surpassing Airlift. Rustom has crossed this mark in 9 days which is one day earlier from Airlift (10 days). This is also become his 5th highest grossing film surpassing the total of Housefull 2.
Despite some new releases including Happy Bhag Jayegi, which has received an above par response from the audience, Rustom has kept strong in its 2nd weekend and still favourite among the movie goers.
At the worldwide box office, Rustom has so far nurtured a grand total of Rs 173.64 crores which include Rs 148.33 (Gross) in Indian and around Rs 25.31 crores from overseas markets.
This is simply a magnificent feat for Akshay Kumar starrer and he once again proved that he is currently the most reliable and consistent actor of Bollywood. Rustom is his 3rd back to back 100 crore grosser of the year after Airlift and Housefull 3, A feat which has not been done even by the ‘Khans’ of Bollywood.
