Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom has received a roaring response at the box office and in first 4 days of its release, Rustom is about to cross 70 crore mark at the domestic box office.
Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, Rustom had released on Friday along with Hrithik Roshan’s period drama Mohenjo Daro. Initially, Hrithik had an upper hand on Akshay but the first day collections of Rustom clarified that people have chosen Rustom over Mohenjo Daro.
Rustom opened smashingly on Friday with Rs 14.11 crore which further enhanced on Saturday with Rs 16.43 crore. Sunday was the biggest day of the first weekend and Rs 19.88 crore pushed the first weekend total of Rustom to Rs 50.42 crore.
But this was not the end of celebration for Rustom as one of the biggest Holiday i.e. Independence Day was waiting on Monday. Yesterday was the perfect occasion for the people to watch this Patriotic film and the numbers at the end of the day itself telling the whole story.
On Monday, Rustom had witnessed a huge turnout at the box office and has collected Rs 17.81 crore , thus the overall 4 days collections of Rustom stands at Rs 68.23 crores.
Rustom now becomes 8th Highest Bollywood grosser of 2016 beating Rohit Dhawan’s Dishoom (Rs 68 crore). Also, It has overpowered Akshay’s previous film Housefull 3 (Rs 53.31 crore) and becomes 2nd highest opening weekend grosser of 2016.
