Akshay Kumar’s crime-thriller Rustom has collected approx Rs 0.59* crores on its 3rd Wednesday from the Indian box office and now its total box office collections after 20 days in the theatres have been reached to approx Rs 124.21* crores.
Right from day one, Rustom has maintained its fantastic pace at the box office and despite some major hurdles in the form of Mohenjo Daro, Happy Bhag Jayegi and A Flying Jatt, it hasn’t shown any major fallout during its entire run.

In this period of 20 days, Rustom has found its place in the elite club of box office including 3rd highest grossing film of the year, 2nd highest opening weekend grosser of 2016 and 2nd highest opening week grosser of 2016.
Apart from the above mentioned records, Rustom has also come out as the biggest bounty for Akshay Kumar. This is his third consecutive 100 crore grosser of the year after Airlift (Rs127.84 crores) and Housefull 3 (Rs 108 crores). He is the first Bollywood actor to do so. Also, this is Akshay’s second film after Rowdy Rathore (2012) that crossed 200 crores worldwide.
Rustom has clearly resulted out as one more superhit of the year and it seems that time has come for Rustom to take a leave after this final 4th weekend at the box office because Sonakshi’s Akira has arrived and it will surely snatch out the maximum screens from Rustom.
But still, one last chance for Rustom is definitely on the cards. If it will manage to take some growth in the coming weekend and somehow acquire 3.5 crores, it will get past the lifetime total of Airlift and become 2nd highest grossing film of the year. Let’s wait and watch.
