After doing a fantastic business on its extended first weekend, Neeraj Pandey’s latest production venture Rustom has continued to steal the show in its first weekday. On its 5th Day (1st Tuesday), Rustom has collected Rs 7.67 crore and reached the total of Rs 75.90 crores.
Akshay Kumar starrer crime-thriller has been really appreciated by the audience as well as the critics. Tuesday was the working day but the occupancies were kept around 40-45% throughout the day which is itself telling how Rustom has gripped the situation under its control.
With big star cast and over and out pre-release promotions, a film could manage to take a fantastic opening but for the long run, only a tight script and phenomenal performances by the actors can make way for the fate of any film. This is exactly happening with Rustom.
Meanwhile, this overwhelming journey at the box office, Rustom has taken one step further and now becomes 6th highest Bollywood grosser of 2016 surpassing the lifetime total of Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja (Rs 75.61 crores).
The pleasing thing for Rustom is that Wednesday is a semi-holiday and Thursday is a big Rakshabandhan Holiday.
So, the dream stage has already set for Rustom and now the much awaited 100 crore mark is just the matter of time. At the overseas market, Rustom has so far collected 22 crores and pushed its worldwide total to Rs 127 crores.
