Right after this, just like in 1959 Nanavati case, three gun shots have been fired and the entire scenario has been changed. Inspired by a true event of Nanavati case, Rustom is an outstanding film written by Vipul K. Rawal. Rustom is set in the era of 1950’s and the dialogues and script have been written according to that period. Cinematography is brilliantly done and except its length, there is hardly any hiccups you will find out in  Rustom.

After Special 26 (2013), Holiday (2014) and Baby (2015) and Airlift, Akshay Kumar has once again proved that apart from a superstar image, he is also a finest actor. Over the years, he had received lots of criticism for the quality of work he had chosen but now it seems that Akshay has also realized that popularity and box office numbers could also achieved from a well-written film.

As a Naval Commander Rustom Pavri, Akshay has shined in the entire duration of the film. His way of presentation and dialogue delivery are the highlighting point of his character. We have recently seen his depth of act in Airlift and no one would surprise if he will get a National Award for this film.

The rest of the starcast including Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta and Arjan Bajwa have also given their best.

Weak Points:

As I said earlier, the only concerning point in Rustom is its slightly stretched length, which could be cut shorted by the makers.

The soundtracks of Rustom have already gained so much popularity, specially that romantic track Tere Sang Yaara is a treat to watch. Overall, the music of Rustom will also make way for its success.

Last Words:

For Akshay Kumar’s fans, Rustom is the biggest surprise of Independence Day and they will certainly watch the film but those who loves thrill and mystery, should also watch this once for sure, you will definitely enjoy this film.

My Rating for Rustom is 3.5 out of 5 stars.
