The superstar Salman Khan‘s production company Salman Khan Films (SKF) and First Take Entertainment Ltd. (FTE) are going to produce Irrfan Khan starrer Lions Of The Sea, is based on the real incident voyage from India to Canada aboard the Komagata Maru.
The both production companies have been announced to produce Lions of the Sea reveals the story of 376 Indian passengers, their journey that challenged racism, the hypocrisy of the largest Empire. Indian finest actor and International famed Irrfan Khan is leading the film, has proven himself through films like Life of Pi, Pan Singh Tomar, Madaari, and The Namesake.
The actor described Lions of the Sea that “Just as cinema today transcends borders, “Lions of the Sea” is a story reflective of challenging barriers and breaking them, irrespective of differences in language and race”.
Salman Khan is also described their project along with First Take Entertainment Ltd. (FTE) and said “Lions of the Sea” is a film based on a true incident which depicts heroism of all those who were on board and challenged the racial policies of the British Empire, It is imperative to tell this story as it mirrors the current global refugee crisis. “Lions of the Sea” will allow us to embrace multiculturalism, diversity and bring humanity closer together”.
Life of the sea is the first project when Indian and Canadian production companies join each other and producing an epic story. Irrfan Khan is confirmed lead actor in the film.
