Although, the number of screens has been cut short from 2300 to 1400 due to the bulk of releases this week but still it is showing the occupancies near 25-30 %, which is just fantastic.

This week, two films have hit the screens. Irrfan Khan starrer social-drama Madaari and South Indian superstar Rajinikanth’s most awaited film of the year Kabali. While Madaari has seen low turnout, Kabali’s out shattering response is receiving only in South Indian cities.

The major money spinner for Sultan i.e. North Indian circuit is not much affected with the Rajini starrer, so Sultan hasn’t much affected and continue gaining more moolahs.

Day by day, Sultan has been breaking some biggest box office records and now it has become the third most profitable film of the year 2016. Sultan, which has been made of Rs 90 crore ($13.53 million), so far received the revenues of Rs 187.96 crores ($28.25 million), that means its profit percentage currently stands at 208.84%.

At present,  Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja is standing at the top with the profit percentage of 260 % followed by Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift (Rs 219.50%). Very soon, Sultan will take over the second spot from Airlift.

In the next two days, because of the weekend, Sultan will once again witness some growth and towards the end of the third weekend, It will surely surpass the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 – Rs 284 crores ($42.69 million) and become third highest Bollywood grosser of all time.

Overall, Sultan has grossed around Rs 533 crores ($80.12 million) worldwide including Rs 145 crores ($21.8 million) from the overseas market.

Meanwhile, the biggest question arising in the mind is that whether Sultan will enter 300 crore club. However, Sultan has still one week left before the big release Dishoom, but still, it will probably be touch and go situation. Let’s wait and watch.
