Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sultan has finished its second weekend with extraordinary numbers. Despite some new releases, Sultan 2nd weekend box office collections have not much affected and the film crosses Rs 260 crore mark.
After it has seen a flawless first week with steady figures, as expected Sultan has seen a healthy growth on its second weekend. On Saturday, Ali Abbas Zafar directorial venture has fetched Rs 11.46 crore and crossed the 250 crore mark. Sultan is now fourth Bollywood film that crossed 250 crore mark after PK (Rs 340 crore), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 320 crore) and Dhoom 3 (Rs 284 crore).
The next day, which was a big weekly off, people had once again come in big numbers and preferred Sultan over the other two releases of the week Great Grand Masti and Ice Age Collision Course.
On Sunday, Sultan has seen splendid footfalls and raked around Rs 15.18 crores to stretch its total collections to around Rs 263.23 crores, this is simply magnificent numbers for the makers.
In between, this dream run, Sultan has surpassed the lifetime collections of Hrithik Roshan starrer Krrish 3 (Rs 244 crores) and become 4th highest Bollywood grosser of all time.
Now it has to scale the three biggest Bollywood grossers PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dhoom 3. It would surely take over the collections of Dhoom 3 probably at the end of this week or weekend but still it is a big question mark on whether Sultan to enter the all important 300 crore club or not.
Although, this Yash Raj Production has still really strong in its third week and there is not much competition till 29th of July, when John Abraham and Varun Dhawan starrer Dishoom will hit the screens but then also, it is interesting to see if Sultan will break the records of PK and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Meanwhile, Sultan is also now second biggest grosser of Yash Raj Films after Dhoom 3 (Rs 284 crore) and it inches towards 500 crore mark at the worldwide basis. At the overseas market, Sultan has so far collected Rs 125 crore in first 12 days, this is brilliant.
