Finally, Salman Khan starrer sports-drama Sultan has at last entered the much awaited 300 crore club on its 35th day.
This is certainly the big news for Salman Khan fans as this is his second film after Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) to enter this most awaited club of the box office. On its 5th Tuesday, Sultan has collected Rs 16 lakhs and reached its total box office collections to Rs 300.06 crore.
With this, Sultan is now 3rd Bollywood film to enter 300 crore club. Before this, Aamir Khan starrer PK (2014) which had finished its run at Rs 339.50 crores and Salman’s cross-border drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 320.34 crores) had managed to cross this toughest feat of the box office.
Apart from Salman, Anushka Sharma, who also played a very important role of wrestler Aarfa in the film has also her second film to enter 300 crore club after PK.
Meanwhile, Sultan is the first film of Aditya Chopra led Yash Raj Films to garner at this coveted club of 300 crore club. Before this, Aamir Khan’s thrilling franchise film Dhoom 3 (Rs 284 crores) was the best grossing film of this popular production house.
With this, Salman Khan has once again proved that he is the real box office king of Bollywood. At present, he is the only actor in the film industry, who has 10 films in 100 crore club out of which two films are in 200 crore club and two now in 300 crore club.
Few days back, when Sultan got slowed down after so many releases, it seemed that it might not enter 300 crore club and finished its run in between 295-298 crores but with not so much big competition around, Sultan has managed to cross this feat of 300 crore club.
