With this, Ali Abbas Zafar has now scaled another much-awaited milestone by surpassing the lifetime total of Aamir Khan starrer Dhoom 3 (Rs 284.27 crore) and become 3rd highest Bollywood grosser of all time.

Like Sultan, Dhoom 3 was also produced by Yash Raj Films, and now YRF has its two films in Top 5 all time highest grossers list, that is simply a remarkable feat achieved by this popular banner.

Although, Rajinikanth starrer recently released action-packed film Kabali has gripped the nation with Rajinimania and shattered all the previous box office record by bringing in Rs 250 crores around the world on its opening day but the North circuit hasn’t much affected with this and Sultan has seen a decent occupancy even in its 3rd weekend.

Yes, the screens count of Sultan has now reduced to less than 1000 due to other bulk releases but still people are coming in good numbers to watch Sultan has it seems that it will definitely stretch its run until Friday when Varun Dhawan and John Abraham starrer action-thriller  Dishoom hit the screens.

In overseas too, some cheering reports are coming for Sultan as it has surpassed Rs 150 crore mark in foreign markets and collected Rs 155 crores and become 6th  highest overseas Bollywood grosser surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s My Name is Khan (Rs 154 crore).

At present on worldwide basis, Sultan has become 3rd highest grosser with Rs 548 crores and beating the lifetime total of Dhoom 3 (Rs 542 crores).

Well, Sultan has once again proved that Salman Khan is the undoubted king of box office and with each film, he has established some new benchmarks for the others.

Meanwhile, the next and only record which Sultan is looking forward to break is the mighty 300 crore club for which it  requires another 11 crores. For this, Sultan has to collect at least 2 crore on each day till Thursday and then, leaves it to the destiny. Fingers crossed!
