Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sultan has now only two crores away to make history. On 5th Wednesday i.e. 29th day, Sultan has collected Rs 34 lakhs and taking its toll to Rs 297.90 crore. It is now inching towards 300 crore club.
Ali Abbas Zafar directorial has now gone towards the end of its theatrical run. With two new Hollywood releases Jason Bourne and Suicide Squad, it will certainly affect the moderate collections of Sultan.
Although there is not any new big Bollywood movie to hit the screens this week but these days, Hollywood films are doing a commendable job at the Indian box office. The Jungle Book is the perfect example as it had collected a whopping amount of Rs 181 crore from the Indian market.
With lesser no. of screens, it is now a very difficult task for Sultan to climb the ladder of 300 crore club. Although, 2 crore is not a big number to achieve but at present this 2 crore is similar to 20 crore.
Meanwhile, Sultan will get another week to chase down this big feat before Rustom and Mohenjo Daro are arriving on 12th of August. It is touch and go situation for Sultan and if it will do that, then Salman Khan will have two films in 300 crore club after Bajrangi Bhaijaan (320 crore). Aamir Khan’s PK (2014) is also on this club and currently highest Bollywood grosser of all time.
Sultan’s total worldwide collections have now reached to Rs 578.06 crores including Rs 161 crore from overseas market plus Rs 432 crore gross from Indian box office.
