Sultan Day 2 box office collections: Salman Khan starrer takes massive opening

After taking a massive opening on the opening day of its release, Salman Khan starrer much anticipated film of the year Sultan has continued its phenomenal streak on Day 2 at the box office.


Sultan takes a massive opening with Rs 36.54 crore

This Ali Abbas Zafar directorial wrestling based film, which had collected a whopping amount of Rs 36.54 crore on the first day, has finished its second day with record Rs 37.20 crore. With this Sultan made several mind boggling records in just days of its release.

Made with the budget of around Rs 90 crore, Sultan was released yesterday with record 5450 screens (4350 in India and 1100 in overseas). As every Salman Khan movie, the pre-release hype had already been created for the past few days with the all out promotions and beautiful soundtracks.

Despite, a non-holiday release, Sultan has stormed the box office with a massive footfalls around each and every part of the country. One more important thing that went into Sultan’s side is that it got the positive reviews by the critics who has appreciated the story, screenplay, performance and dialogues of Sultan.

If we talk about the box office records, in just two days, Sultan has already shattered some of the biggest box office records. It is nosw become 6th highest grossing film of the year surpassing Kapoor and Sons.

With the way it is going, today itself, it will enter the highly anticipated 100 crore club and also cross the lifetime collections of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan (Rs 85 crore).

Sultan is now the third highest opening day Bollywood grosser of all time after Happy New Year (Rs 44.97 crore) and Salman’s own Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 40.35 crore).

Also, this is highest second day grosser of all time beating Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 36.60 crore). Before this, Salman’s biggest opening day grosser was Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and probably it had overtaken by Sultan but due to the split in Eid holiday, it went short by some margin.

Sultan is also now biggest non-holiday grosser beating Aamir Khan‘s Dhoom 3 (Rs 36.22 crore).

Apart from Salman, Sultan is also highest opening day grosser of Anushka Sharma, whose previous best was PK (Rs 26.63 crore). YRF is also the biggest gainer as Sultan is now the biggest opener of this premier production house.

From, now it is interesting to see, from where Sultan will go and all eyes now on the coming two big days (Saturday and Sunday) because these two day will tell you the depth of Sultan and its possibilities of becoming all time biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema.
