Tubelight Day 1 Box Office Collection: Slowest Opening of Duo Salman & Kabir

Megastar Salman Khan’s much-hyped Tubelight has been released in 4350 Indian Theaters and 1200 Overseas on 23rd of June and the film is receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences. The film is the slowest Opening of Blockbuster duo Salman & Kabir.

Salman Khan and Kabir Khan first time collaborated through a spy action thriller Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and that film opened with record 32.93 crore was the highest opening of Salman Khan at the time. Then they collaborated for a Hindi drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) also opened well or earned 27.25 Crore on the 1st day.

Tubelight Day 1 Box Office Collection is around Rs 21.15 Crore which is the slowest opening of duo Salman & Kabir and also slowest compared to Salman Khan’s last 5 films. Sooraj Barjatya directed Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) is the highest opening (40.35 Cr) of Salman.

An acclaimed sports drama Sultan at the second position with 36.54 Cr. The film won best action movie Award at Shanghai International Film Festival. So Tubelight is dim among these previous years’ blockbusters of this Megastar.

Now Salman Khan’s Tubelight is the highest opening grosser of 2017 left Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees (Rs 20.43 Crore) behind.

Tubelight has a poor content, less climax revolves around an innocence guy named Laxman Singh Bisht from northern India, sets out to find his brother Bharat Singh Bisht, an army man of Kumaon regiment during the 1962 Sino-Indian war. Salman Khan’s real life brother Sohail plays the role of reel brother. Legendary actor late Om Puri’s presence will melt your heart. Shah Rukh Khan played a cameo role of a magician.
